With 5 million Australians already set up with an eHealth record, and billions already invested and planned for in both the federal and state digital health plan, Australia is poised to address new health challenges and rising demand for services in the upcoming years.

The recent developments in health policy might pave the way for better clinical outcomes and population health. However, it will come with its challenges with respect to education, security and buy-in from the healthcare professionals and public.

How will the change to ‘opt-out’ impact the entire healthcare system, and are there enough resources available for public and private healthcare providers, to find value in digital health?

Topics to be discussed:
- Nation and state wide digital health initiatives
- Value in health IT
- Challenges, opportunities and future state vision

11:20 - 12:30Achieving Desired Outcomes [More Info]

While funding is a major roadblock, it is only one of the challenges. Managing change within an organization and its culture, and implementation can prove to be an even bigger hurdle.

This is made even more complicated with different avenues of funding and investment cycles, varying solution and integration partners across the different states and territories within both the public and private sectors.

How can we achieve our desired outcomes, through strong leadership and proper governance, with an eye on both the Australian and global landscape?

Topics to be discussed:
- Current leadership and governance initiatives and challenges
- Significant changes for health IT leaders
- Global overview of system transformation
